Sanland Equipment appoints South Island industry veteran Stew Austin as sales and service manager, strengthening support for EvoQuip and crushing solutions
Crushing and screening machinery supplier Sanland Equipment has recently appointed Stewart (Stew) Austin to the position of sales and service manager – South Island.
Stew is a well-known identity in the South Island, who after completing his tool and die apprenticeship spent over 25 years working as an engineer for numerous companies before moving into the quarrying industry.
His pedigree, which has included a stint servicing equipment in Australia, has seen him working for Screening & Crushing (SCS), Brightwater, Lincom, Southern Screenworks and Mobile Screening & Crushing (MSC).
“I moved into sales and servicing with Lincom and found that was a role I was naturally comfortable with,” says Stew.
“My focus was on the South Island, but I frequently worked in the North Island when commissioning equipment and sorting issues.”
The new role with Sanland will see Stew promoting the EvoQuip mobile crushing and screening plants to new and existing customers, while ensuring word is spread about the wide range of parts and consumables for other brands the company provides for.
“I couldn’t believe the wide range of parts Sanland has sitting on the shelves,” says Stew. “I walked around the warehouse about three times and still kept finding things that other suppliers would have to order in from overseas,”
Max Sun of Sanland Equipment is enthusiastic about having a dedicated South Island presence.
“We’re really looking forward to this next phase for our company. Not only is Stew a genuinely nice guy, his experience with a wide range of plant and equipment will directly benefit our customers,” says Max. “He has the technical knowledge and skills to understand what his clients – or friends as he calls them – need and can visit them on a regular basis to help ensure what we supply is working efficiently and keeping their businesses sustainable.”
