When it comes to construction equipment solutions, the Boss Attachments hire range provides contractors with cost-effective machinery

Antraquip Milling Heads

Antraquip is a proven alternative to blasting or breakers

Boss Attachment’s Paul Herbison highlights the extensive line-up available: “we have the largest range of milling heads (also known as a drum cutter) available for hire in New Zealand and Australia to fit 1.5- to 120-tonne excavators.

“The full Antraquip range is covered. We are happy to visit your site and discuss the particular needs to ensure the correct attachment is supplied for the application.”

Boss also has options of lease, long-term hire, and hire/try/buy solutions, developed to meet a client’s budget and needs.

“On top of these two brands, and subject to specific project details, we’re also happy to discuss hire options for any of the other bands within our range,” says Paul.

The Antraquip brand is globally recognised for its rock-cutting equipment, and during the past six years, their milling heads have made a mark across a number of major New Zealand projects.

“Where safety and accuracy are required, then the only solution is a drum cutter.

“The cut faces are left clean, leaving a safe slope free of loose rocks. They are a proven alternative to the use of blasting or breakers and operate with little or zero microcracking of the area outside the excavation line. The Antraquip Milling Head range includes models suitable for materials with uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) ranging from one to 220+ MPA for small- to mid-sized cutters,” says Paul.

“The AQ-5 model (200kW for 50+ tonne carrier) and AQ-6 model (400kW for 65+ tonne carrier) can be utilised in rock substantially harder than this.”

New Zealand projects have included the cut and milling of concrete, greywacke, blue basalt, hard blue sandstone, and stabilised road pavement.

Motofog dust cannons

No external power source needed with Motofog

Italian-designed and manufactured, Motofog is renowned for its dust cannons, with an operational range of up to 60 metres. Units are compact, easily transportable, and have low operating costs.

The range includes diesel and electric-powered model options.

“Our Motofog Dust Cannons are a more recent hire option and they have provided contractors with the ideal compliance option to reduce on-site dust problems,” says Paul.

Some of its benefits include:

  • Dust control with no electrical power source required
  • Dust is not propelled with a fan system
  • Fully controlled from a remote

“Our clients who have them love them and are requesting them over the traditional fan units we have,” says Paul.

“It is also worth noting, especially in locations with ongoing water shortage problems, that Motofog units require significantly less water consumption than many other models.

“Our hire range provides contractors with reliable, project-specific solutions. They are operator-friendly, and we are happy to discuss short- or long-term hire options.”
