Blindsight wins tech award

Blindsight has been awarded the QMCA Innovation and Technology Award for 2024

Technology solutions provider Aptella announced that Blindsight, an advanced AI safety solution developed by Presien and deployed by Aptella, has been awarded the QMCA Innovation and Technology Award for 2024.

Blindsight is designed to protect workers in dynamic environments by increasing safety around heavy machines with the Blindsight artificial intelligence (AI) system.

The product intelligently recognises people, making it the first proximity detection solution that can be used where other workers, contractors or the general public are protected without the need for wearable devices.

The system allows for fast installs on heavy machinery and fixed infrastructure, where users can customise settings and zones to each machine, for example, only alert in reverse.

Aptella says the intelligent detection of people, other plant, light vehicles and traffic cones, along with video and map-based reporting with heat maps, make it ideal for proactive safety management, safety training and near-miss reporting.

“Winning this award is a testament to the power of innovation in improving safety outcomes,” says Nicholas Corr, market development manager of safety at Aptella.

“Blindsight is already making a difference by protecting workers and equipping managers with the data they need to drive lasting improvements. We are supporting customers to onboard this game-changing technology and unlock its full potential.”
