Bauma 2025: Boss Attachments visit

Boss Attachments’ Paul Herbison joined 600,000 attendees at Bauma 2025 in Munich, connecting with global suppliers and seeing the latest in construction and demolition tech

The Bauma trade show is the world’s leading expo for equipment used in the construction, mining demolition and general contracting related sectors. Spread over 500,000 square meters of exhibition space, this year’s event attracted over 3500 exhibitors from 57 countries and was attended by 600,000 visitors – including Paul Herbison from Boss Attachments NZ.

“It was my first time at this event, and I was absolutely blown away,” says Paul. “It was wall to wall equipment in every direction as far as the eye can see.”

Bauma, which was held in Munich, Germany this year between 7-13 April, attracts all the industry heavyweights including brands Boss Attachments represents – OSA, Antraquip, Fortress Shearcore, LaValley, MotoFog and Sterling.

“I was there for a couple of reasons – the first being to catch up with our suppliers – and secondly, to check out the latest innovations,” says Paul. “I’m pleased to say that our brands are among the best of them.”

Significant themes

Bauma has become a global meeting point and showcases the very latest in technology and innovation. This year a number of internationally significant themes were featured – mining challenges, climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, and sustainable construction.

“These are all issues that our New Zealand contractors are confronted with, so it was great be part of it – especially since the audience includes key decision makers from over 200 countries, including our Australasian sector,” says Paul.

During the event, Paul spent time on the stands of several of Boss’s suppliers, including demolition equipment heavyweight OSA. “These guys are Europe’s largest demolition attachment supplier whose advanced line-up includes pulverisers, multi-tools, crushers, shears and grabs,” says Paul. “They live and breathe demo gear, so it was really inspirational to spend the time with them.”

Breaking news

Breaking news from the show was that OSA has been purchased by Sandvik and will become the Sandvik demolition range. As part of that agreement Boss Attachments will continue to solely distribute the OSA range in Australia New Zealand and the Pacific.

Paul spent time on the Antraquip stand, catching up with company president, Peter Mittendorfer. “Peter was on the stand with us at last year’s National Fieldays in Hamilton, so it was great to spend time with him here,” says Paul. “Antraquip is a world leader for rock cutting equipment, and over the last 10 years their milling head range has made significant contributions at a number of major New Zealand projects.”

Paul also had the pleasure of being invited to dinner with the owners of Motofog and being on the Motofog stand when a couple of fellow Kiwis visited. He also bumped into several New Zealand friends and clients while walking around the show.

“The week at Bauma provided a fantastic opportunity to form closer ties with our suppliers,” says Paul. “That in turn will help us deliver on the outstanding service promise that we make to our clients.”
