The new 2024 FUSO Canter model has been launched in NZ, featuring advanced safety features that now come as standard across the 4x2 range
For more than 50 years, FUSO Canter has been a trusted Kiwi workmate across a diverse range of industries.
The new 2024 model-year Canter builds on its reputation, with advanced safety features that now come as standard across the 4×2 range, including Active Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Electronic Braking System, and Electronic Stability Control.
Adaptable for multiple applications, there are 29 models in the 2024 Canter range, excluding derate options, with wheelbases from 2500mm to 4750mm up to nine-tonne GVM.
Range highlights include the popular Canter Tipper with limited-slip differential and DUONIC 2.0 automated transmission, available across various models, for smoother, more economical driving.
“In terms of efficiency and performance, FUSO’s DUONIC automated manual transmission is still best-in-class, and Canter Tipper remains the only light-duty truck in New Zealand to feature a limited-slip differential,” says Kevin Smith, Fuso New Zealand general manager.
Additional Canter features include new LED headlights, fog lamps, and indicators, while inside the cab, a new, larger eight-inch touchscreen multimedia unit delivers improved functionality and on-the-go useability.
The on-dash touchscreen relays images from the rear-mounted reversing camera and works with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for text-to-speech and hands-free talking. Up to six additional cameras can be added as optional extras.
Buyers have the option of Fuso New Zealand’s five-year/200,000km bumper-to-bumper extended warranty, up from the standard three-year/100,000km.
“The optional extension delivers a huge amount of value at no additional cost, with the only stipulation being that the truck is serviced at an authorised FUSO dealer,” says Kevin.
