Isuzu New Zealand appoints new general manager
Colin Muir is the new general manager of Isuzu.

The announcement follows the resignation of Oliver Foote, who leaves Isuzu after three years at the helm and eight years combined at both Holden and Isuzu. Colin will officially take the reins for Isuzu, New Zealand's number one selling truck brand, on 25 July.

Colin graduated from the University of Stirling in Scotland with a BA Hons in marketing and came to New Zealand in 2002 as business manager for Gough Gough and Hamer, before joining Isuzu in 2009 as sales and marketing manager.

Colin commented: "Isuzu has been the number one selling truck for 14 years in a row and that's due to a few reasons, one of those is the quality and options offered in our trucks, another reason is the people behind the brand from sales to technicians to customer service.

"I have a responsibility to ensure that Isuzu trucks continue to be the product customers have come to expect and I look forward to the challenges ahead."

Holden New Zealand managing director Jeff Murray added: "Colin has a great knowledge of Isuzu and its people and has been an important part of the Isuzu team and I believe that Colin will thrive in his new role."

Meanwhile, Isuzu Trucks also announced the appointment of Michael Doeg as its new sales and marketing manager.

Michael Doeg joined Holden in 2006 as a district manager. He was promoted to sales operations manager in 2008 before becoming the Holden national sales manager in 2010.

He commented: "Although I have been working in the motoring industry for a long time the truck element will bring its challenges but they are challenges I'm excited about facing. It's also important that I continue to provide the support that Isuzu dealerships need and deserve."
