Innovation is nothing new at JB – it was the first company to introduce hydraulic couplers to the construction industry, and has continued to lead the way. Now, a quarter of a century later, the outstanding advantages of JB’s new multi-coupler are attracting interest world-wide.
The JB multi-coupler boasts a positive mechanical locking system that saves drivers both time and effort, eliminating the need to leave the cab to put a safety pin in place. This is a world-first.
The system meets the new Australian Safety Standard CL 2.1.4/Draft Standard DR 06580 and comes in addition to every standard hydraulic safety feature, but means that at all times the attachments will be held by no less than one pin. It also means that attachments cannot be accidentally dropped, and the obvious outcome of this is a greatly reduced incidence of accidents on-site.
JB’s multi-coupler is made out of cast steel, with only two moving parts. It has 40 percent less profile and weighs 30 percent less than its counterparts, so the breakout loss that all other couplers generate is more than halved – in fact, it is reduced by around 60 percent. This not only increases the machine’s breakout force and overall performance, but also brings a significant drop in fuel consumption.
And that’s not all. Because of its multi-pin centre-operating jaw, the coupler is capable of picking up all attachments from all other makes and models in the same weight range.
On the market for little more than a year, the multi-coupler has already created a global stir. International businesses are being drawn to the increased safety features and performance that it brings, as well as its very competitive price. The price is the same as all JB Sales’ existing couplers, but a lot more cost-effective than some of those made by competitors.
And the multi-coupler has one final card up its sleeve: it is 100 percent New Zealand-made!
Benefits:
The low profile benefits include reduced loss of breakout over the standard type of coupler
The reduced weight benefits include reduced loss of breakout over standard couplers
Together, the above increase productivity and reduce fuel consumption
The multi pick-up capability adjusts automatically to most pin centres in the same weight class
Easy maintenance; only two moving parts
The system’s durability has allowed JB Sales to increase carcass warranty to two years. Hydraulics remains at one year.
Most attachments can be operated in both standard and reverse pick-up positions
No more need for a manual safety pin: the built-in positive mechanical locking secondary safety system meets the new Australian Safety Standard: CL 2.1.4/Draft Standard DR 06580
The unique three-step engaging and disengaging system compels operators to follow a strict locking and unlocking safety procedure, which is stipulated in the coupler’s manual and prominently displayed on a sticker inside the cab. This procedure must be followed at all times.
